Lebanon Valley College, perennially recognized as a Fulbright Top Producing Institution, seeks to add to the list of 14 recent LVC graduates who received Fulbright awards in the past seven years. The prestigious Fulbright Program is the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government with a rigorous merit-based selection process.

Dr. Philip Benesch, chair of social sciences, associate professor of politics, and director of external scholarships and fellowships, announced that an impressive six LVC students and recent graduates (six of eight, or 75% of LVC’s 2023 Fulbright applicants) advanced to Fulbright Semi-Finalist status, the last step before the awards are announced in March–April.

The six 2023 LVC Fulbright semi-finalists have applied for Fulbright Awards to attend graduate school, serve as an English Teaching Assistant, and/or conduct research in Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Slovak Republic, and United Kingdom according to Benesch, who also oversees the College’s pre-law and University of London law certificate programs.

Benesch will host a Fulbright midyear update with several recent Fulbright Finalists from LVC in the Vernon and Doris Bishop Library at 3 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 3. The event will include Lexi Kerstetter ’21, who will attend during her mid-year break from her Fulbright in Taiwan.
