Congressman Dan Meuser, who represents Pennsylvania’s 9th congressional district, posted a series of messages on his official X (formerly Twitter) account this week addressing military pay, prescription drug costs, and the observance of Yom Kippur.
On October 1, 2025, Meuser commented on the issue of military compensation during potential government shutdowns. He stated, “If our military doesn’t get paid, I don’t get paid.”
The following day, October 2, 2025, Meuser referenced an announcement by former President Donald Trump regarding a new agreement with Pfizer. In his post he wrote, “This week, President Trump announced a major agreement with Pfizer which is an important first step to lowering the cost of prescription for Americans. Pfizer will be offering lower costs for prescription drugs to Medicare as well as offering major pharmaceuticals at a steep” The message highlights ongoing efforts to address the affordability of prescription medications for Americans through partnerships between the federal government and pharmaceutical companies.
Later that same day, Meuser acknowledged Yom Kippur in a message directed at his constituents and others observing the holiday. He posted: ” On this Yom Kippur, I extend my best wishes to all in Pennsylvania’s 9th District and across the nation who are observing this sacred day. May this Day of Atonement bring peace, clarity, and blessings to you and your families.”
Yom Kippur is considered one of the holiest days in Judaism and is observed with fasting and prayer by Jewish communities worldwide.
Meuser has served as a member of Congress since 2019 and regularly uses social media platforms to communicate policy positions and personal messages to his constituents.
