On July 13, 2025, Congressman Meuser recounted his presence at the Butler rally one year prior. He wrote: “I was at the Butler rally July 13, 2024. I spent time with President Trump before the rally and saw the shooter’s bullet hit him. I also saw President Trump get up and raise his fist and speak those immortal words fight, fight, fight! As the President said, he wasn’t speaking for” (posted July 13, 2025).
Later that day, Meuser reflected further on national television about witnessing the event firsthand. In another post he stated: “This morning on Newsmax, I reflected on the harrowing events of July 13, 2024—the day of the assassination attempt on President Trump.
I was in the front row at the rally in Butler, having spent time with President Trump shortly beforehand. I saw the moment he was he went” (posted July 13, 2025).
The following morning, Meuser announced an upcoming appearance to discuss these events in greater detail.
