Yesterday, Congressman Dan Meuser of Pennsylvania’s Ninth District participated in the House Small Business Committee’s 2nd Annual Small Business Showcase at the U.S. Capitol. The event featured small businesses from across the country and included remarks from Republican leaders and Small Business Administrator Kelly Loeffler.
Two businesses from Pennsylvania’s Ninth District were highlighted at the showcase: Masser Family of Companies and C2G Energy Solutions. These companies were chosen to represent the strength and diversity of the region’s small business economy.
The Masser Family of Companies, based in Sacramento, PA, is a family-owned agricultural enterprise that has been in operation since 1754. It is now the largest potato grower and distributor in Pennsylvania. Julie Masser Ballay, Chief Financial Officer and Vice President, has worked on modernizing and expanding the company while maintaining its community-focused approach. She has previously testified before the Small Business Committee about preserving pro-growth tax policies like the R&D credit.
C2G Energy Solutions, located in Montrose, provides sustainable water and waste management solutions for the energy industry. Co-Founders Jesse Bonnice and Adam Locke lead efforts to develop technologies that convert industrial waste into usable resources. Their Shaskas Facility showcases this approach with wastewater treatment capabilities and natural gas supply infrastructure.
“These companies are perfect examples of what happens when you pair entrepreneurial spirit with strong community values,” said Congressman Meuser. He praised Masser for its combination of tradition with innovation in Schuylkill County and noted C2G’s pioneering process for turning waste into valuable assets for the energy sector.
Congressman Meuser also spoke about the need to pass President Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill to extend provisions of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. “Small businesses need certainty to plan, invest, and expand,” he stated, emphasizing permanent measures such as the 199A deduction and 100% bonus depreciation.
Administrator Loeffler’s involvement highlighted SBA’s focus on reducing regulatory burdens under President Trump’s administration. “We’re fortunate to have an SBA Administrator who listens, leads, and understands the real needs of small businesses,” Meuser added.
The event concluded with a reception honoring participating businesses for their contributions to the American economy.
