Congressman Dan Meuser, who represents Pennsylvania’s 9th congressional district, addressed several national issues in recent posts on his social media account.
On August 26, 2025, Meuser highlighted a presidential proclamation: “Today, President Trump proclaimed August 26, 2025, as a day of commemoration for the anniversary of the Abbey Gate attack. Four years ago, during the Biden Administration’s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, a terrorist attack at Abbey Gate in Kabul claimed the lives of 13”. The Abbey Gate attack occurred during the U.S. military withdrawal from Afghanistan and resulted in significant loss of life among American service members.
The following day, Meuser responded to violence in Minnesota: “This morning’s shooting at Annunciation Catholic School and Church in Minneapolis is a heartbreaking tragedy. I extend my deepest condolences to the students, teachers, families, and the entire community affected. What should have been a joyful start to the school year was”. The incident disrupted what was intended as an ordinary beginning to classes at a local religious institution.
Later on August 27th, Meuser commented on standards within federal institutions: “The Federal Reserve is entrusted with immense responsibility and its Governors must uphold the highest standards of integrity. At any business in America, even the appearance of fraud would trigger an immediate investigation and administrative leave. The Fed should be no”. His statement reflects ongoing scrutiny over transparency and accountability at key financial agencies.
