Congressman Dan Meuser, representing Pennsylvania’s 9th district since 2019, has recently addressed several pressing issues via social media. Born in Babylon, New York, and residing in Dallas, Meuser continues to engage with constituents on topics ranging from public health crises to economic opportunities for small businesses.

On March 5, 2025, Congressman Meuser highlighted a significant public health concern: “For Americans aged 18-45, fentanyl overdose is the leading cause of death—claiming over 75,000 lives last year alone.” He commended President Donald Trump for taking “decisive action to combat this crisis,” including measures like securing borders and treating cartels as terrorist organizations.

Later that day, Meuser turned his attention to economic matters. He tweeted about his commitment to enhancing financial accessibility for small businesses: “Expanding access to capital and economic opportunities for small businesses is one of my top priorities in Congress.” He also mentioned having a discussion with Ben Walter, CEO of Chase Business Banking, regarding the challenges faced by small businesses in accessing capital.

In another post on March 5th, Meuser expressed support for a legislative resolution during a Financial Committee markup session. He stated: “Today… I spoke in support of H.J.Res.59… to disapprove the CFPB’s burdensome overdraft rule.” He used an analogy comparing reduced penalties to increased infractions as part of his argument against the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s regulation.
