Congressman Dan Meuser, who represents Pennsylvania’s 9th congressional district, recently shared several updates on his official X (formerly Twitter) account.
On August 8, Meuser commended the actions of local emergency personnel in Susquehanna County. He wrote, “In moments of danger, our Pennsylvania State Police and first responders run toward the threat to keep others safe. The bravery shown in Susquehanna County by Troopers Perechinsky and Jenkins, EMT Lawson, and the many officers and emergency personnel who responded reflects the” (August 8, 2025).
On August 11, Meuser addressed a recent incident at U.S. Steel’s Clairton Coke Works. In his statement he said, “My team and I are closely monitoring reports of the explosion at U.S. Steel’s Clairton Coke Works. One fatality has been reported and several individuals have been injured and are receiving medical care.
My office will continue to track the situation and provide updates as new” (August 11, 2025).
