We had a productive discussion on how we can modernize oversight to support responsible” (August 1, 2025).
Two days later, Meuser announced an upcoming appearance on national television: “I will be joining Fox Report today with Jon Scott at 4:05pm. Tune in to @FoxNews, we’ll be discussing President Trump’s economic wins, dangerous rhetoric being used by the left, and the latest on the Federal Reserve renovation project.” (August 3, 2025).
Later that same day, he provided more detail about his televised remarks: “I joined Fox Report to discuss President Trump’s efforts to restore accountability at the Bureau of Labor Statistics. From April 2023 to March 2024, the agency overstated job growth by 818,000—a 40% error. Those inflated numbers were used to justify a rate cut just before the” (August 3, 2025).
The Bureau of Labor Statistics periodically revises its employment data after annual benchmarking procedures reveal discrepancies between initial estimates and actual job counts. These revisions are part of standard practice but can result in significant changes in reported employment figures.
