Seventeen fire and emergency medical service organizations in Pennsylvania’s 102nd District have been granted nearly $280,000 through the Fire and Emergency Medical Services Grant Program. This announcement was made by Representative Russ Diamond (R-Lebanon).
The grant program, created by the Legislature, is managed by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) and the Office of the State Fire Commissioner (OSFC). It provides funding for various projects such as construction or renovation of facilities, equipment purchase or repair, training, and debt reduction.
“Our firefighters and EMS personnel work very hard and make daily sacrifices to serve and protect our municipalities. Most of these companies are run exclusively by volunteers, who need to make equipment and safety upgrades to continue doing their jobs effectively,” said Diamond. “These grant awards are just one way we show our support for all they do.”
The grants distributed within the 102nd District include:
– Bellegrove Fire Co., $13,309
– Bunker Hill Fire Co., $13,309
– Citizens Fire Co. No. 1, $16,322
– Fredericksburg Fire Co. 1, $13,955
– Keystone Hook & Ladder Co. No. 1, $16,322
– Kutztown Volunteer Community Fire Co., $11,012
– Mt. Zion Community Fire Co., $13,955
– Myerstown First Aid Unit, $10,000
– Neptune Fire Co. No. 1, $14,385
– Newmanstown Volunteer Fire Co. for EMS services received $10,737 while for fire services it received $12,879.
– Northern Lebanon Fire and Emergency Services Inc., $52,322
– Perseverance Fire Co., $12,018
– Schaefferstown Emergency Medical Services Inc., $15,000
– Schaefferstown Volunteer Fire Co. No. 1 received a grant of $13,739.
– Union Hose Fire Co of Annville Inc., received a grant totaling at an amount of around abouts exactly equal too twenty-eight thousand three hundred twenty-two dollars.
To receive their grants after applying and meeting OSFC requirements outlined previously agreed upon in written formality with regards towards those who have sought out this funding opportunity under guidance from OSFC regulations; companies must file a formal agreement.
