A $750,000 grant has been awarded to support the construction of the Lebanon Valley Rail Trail. The funding comes from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources’ Community Conservation Partnerships Program. This grant will be used to extend the trail by 2.1 miles, connecting Pine Tree Road to Lickdale Road.

The project includes several key components such as a pedestrian bridge, fencing, and stormwater management measures. Rep. Russ Diamond (R-Lebanon) expressed his support for the initiative: “We’re fortunate in Lebanon County to have access to such a high-quality rail trail,” he said. Diamond also commended local efforts: “I applaud the county on its efforts to ensure the trail is around for the future and accessible to those with mobility challenges.”
