U.S. Representative Dan Meuser emphasized the critical importance of public safety and the protection of human life as a fundamental priority in Congress. “And that responsibility rests squarely on the shoulders of our police officers, firefighters, EMTs, correction officers, and dispatchers,” stated Rep. Meuser, R-Dallas.

During National Police Week, the House passed Rep. Meuser’s Gold Shield Families Resolution. This resolution acknowledges the essential role played by first responders who are described as being on the front lines of communities and putting themselves at risk daily to ensure public safety.

“These are the people on the front lines of our communities, putting themselves in danger every single day to keep the rest of us safe,” said Rep. Meuser. He further described them as “the thin gold line that holds society together.”
