Rep. John Schlegel announced that the Lebanon County Historical Society has been awarded a $5,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission. The funding aims to enhance the protection and security of its archival collection.
The grant will address lighting issues in the archival area, acquire new archival quality boxes to replace damaged ones, organize folders currently stored on floors or in storage, and assist with cataloging efforts.
“The Lebanon County Historical Society understands the urgent need to protect and preserve our county’s historical records and artifacts for future generations,” said Schlegel. “Through this Historical and Archival Records Care Grant, our county historical society will have the funding necessary to improve its infrastructure, storage and care of these important relics of our county’s history.”
Schlegel serves as the representative for the 101st Legislative District, covering areas including the City of Lebanon, Borough of Cornwall, and several townships such as North Lebanon, South Lebanon, West Lebanon, North Cornwall, and West Cornwall.
