Pennsylvania State Senator Chris Gebhard, representing the 48th District, recently shared updates on his official X (formerly Twitter) account regarding local community initiatives and legislative efforts.
On January 5, 2026, Gebhard announced the availability of a livestream featuring bald eagles in Codorus State Park: “The @PAGameComm livestream of a bald eagle nest in Codorus State Park near Hanover, York County is up and running. You can watch the latest eagle couple prepare for the 2026 nesting season with multiple camera angles, night vision and audio.”
Two days later, on January 7, he reported participating in a tour of Lebanon County Jail alongside Warden Tina Litz: “I joined Warden Tina Litz for a tour of the Lebanon County Jail this morning. We discussed ongoing efforts to combat drug addiction in our community and potential changes in the law that could better support these initiatives. I look forward to continuing these conversations.”
On January 8, Gebhard referenced media coverage related to his Children’s Vision Bill: “Over the holidays, the Scranton Times-Tribune highlighted my Children’s Vision Bill, which would expand in-school vision testing to help identify issues earlier. I appreciate the coverage and look forward to continuing work on this important effort.”
Senator Gebhard’s district includes all of Lebanon County as well as portions of Berks and Lancaster counties. He has prioritized protecting individual rights, supporting economic growth and education, assisting small businesses against overregulation, and advancing bipartisan legislation such as expanded health coverage for veterans and first responders (official website). His tenure began following a special election win on May 18, 2021.
In addition to legislative work—including chairing the Senate Banking and Insurance Committee—Gebhard regularly engages with constituents through events like veterans appreciation breakfasts and food drives (official website). He maintains offices across Harrisburg, Lebanon, Wernersville, and Hamburg to support constituent needs.
