Senator Chris Gebhard shared updates from his district in a series of posts on social media, highlighting local events and issuing a warning about recent scams targeting older Pennsylvanians.
On July 21, 2025, Senator Gebhard congratulated the newly crowned Lebanon Area Fair Queen and acknowledged his intern’s participation at the event. ” Congratulations to the 2025 Lebanon Area Fair Queen, Olivia Morrisey, who was crowned over the weekend! My intern, Crystal Bomgrardner also had a chance to participate in the opening ceremonies. The fair runs all week long at the Lebanon Valley Expo Center & Fairgrounds https://t.co/6Fx7NIqqQ2″, he wrote.
The following day, on July 22, 2025, Senator Gebhard addressed an ongoing scam affecting residents. “Older Pennsylvanians are being targeted by emails from scammers posing as state employees requesting payments necessary to access to a non-existent inheritance. Don’t respond. Report the incident by phone at 1-866-PAComplaint or online: https://t.co/89YWTRPWBz https://t.co/voHNqivM19”, he posted.
Later that same day, Senator Gebhard attended a community breakfast hosted by the Lebanon Valley Chamber of Commerce during the fair week. He noted: “This morning, I had the pleasure of attending Lebanon Valley Chamber of Commerce’s Breakfast at the Fair with nearly 150 community members, where we heard from keynote speaker Scott Sechler, owner of Bell & Evans. https://t.co/xogqpvn4u2”.
According to Pennsylvania officials and consumer protection agencies, scams involving fraudulent inheritances have been increasing in frequency across the state. Authorities recommend that individuals avoid responding to suspicious emails and instead report such incidents using official hotlines or online portals for consumer complaints.
The Lebanon Area Fair is an annual event held at the Lebanon Valley Expo Center & Fairgrounds and serves as a major gathering for local residents and businesses.
