Pennsylvania State Senator Chris Gebhard, who represents the 48th District including Lebanon County and parts of Berks and Lancaster counties, has used his social media platform to highlight legislative initiatives and community acknowledgments in January 2026.
On January 12, Gebhard addressed recent developments regarding childcare oversight, posting, “In light of recent reports highlighting the fraud involving childcare centers in Minnesota, I recently co-sponsored legislation to strengthen oversight and reporting requirements for publicly funded childcare in Pennsylvania.” He referenced concerns about fraud in another state as motivation for new measures in Pennsylvania.
The following day, January 13, Gebhard recognized a local law enforcement leader’s career: “Congratulations to Police Chief Kevin L. Snyder on his official retirement from the North Londonderry Township Police Department after 24 years of dedicated service to the Township and a 44-year law enforcement career.”
Later that same day, he commented on safety concerns facing immigration officers: “Attacks and harassment directed at ICE officers and their families are unacceptable. These men and women are enforcing the laws of our nation. That’s why I introduced SB 1021 to strengthen penalties for crimes against immigration enforcement:”
Senator Gebhard has prioritized protecting individual rights, supporting economic growth and education, and aiding small businesses during his tenure. He draws on experience in insurance and community involvement to serve constituents effectively (official website). Since winning a special election in May 2021, he has chaired the Senate Banking and Insurance Committee while serving on several others including Aging and Youth, Communications and Technology, Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure (official website).
