Rep. John Schlegel of Lebanon announced that the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) has allocated over $2.2 million in state grants for water and sewer infrastructure improvements in Lebanon County’s 101st Legislative District.

During a meeting held this morning, the CFA approved grants from the COVID-19 American Recovery Plan Act (ARPA) H20 PA fund and the PA Small Water and Sewer fund. The funding is distributed as follows:

North Cornwall Township will receive $1 million to replace its Dairy Road pumping station, along with an additional grant of $141,727 for four permanent flow metering chambers on its sewer system. North Lebanon Township is set to get $425,000 for storm sewer infrastructure rehabilitation. South Lebanon Township will benefit from a $500,000 grant for extending its sanitary sewer system. Lastly, the City of Lebanon will receive $148,495 to improve its sanitary sewer mains and laterals.

Schlegel commented on the importance of these projects: “Updating Pennsylvania’s aging infrastructure is a costly, yet necessary endeavor,” he said. “We must remain vigilant to protect the health, safety and comfort of all who live and work here. I am pleased this much-needed funding has been approved and will enable these critical water and sewer improvement projects to occur.”
