NORTHERN LEBANON MIDDLE SCHOOL: High School Morning Announcements

Northern Lebanon Middle School issued the following announcement on Dec. 4.

Congratulations to Emily Hauck and Emma Bomberger for being chosen as Students of the Month for December.

The FFA and Student Council are coming together and doing a Food Drive Competition. Bring in food to your homeroom teacher from December 1st to December 11th, to be donated to the JOY Food Pantry. The winners will also get points for class wars and teachers will provide you a box for each homeroom. Look throughout the halls for a Wishlist of items. Whichever homeroom collects the most products wins donuts and milk for their whole homeroom class! Good Luck everyone!

Attention students. It is once again time to bring in your old winter coats for the Volunteer Club! Collection will go from today to Monday December 14th in Mrs. Albright's room. The class that collects the most coats will earn points towards Class Wars!

If you are in 10th, 11th, or 12th grade and need some help making career decisions or are pursuing a career in the military, then think about taking the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB). The test will be administered on Wednesday, February 10th at 7:45am in the HS Library. Any students who are interested in taking the ASVAB, please sign-up using the Google Form. **You must provide your own transportation on the day of the ASVAB (it's a Wednesday)** The test will take about 3 hours to complete.

Congratulations to Lauren Roth and Isaac Costanzo for being the winners of the homecoming spirit week gift card competition! For a chance to win more gift cards, participate in the class wars holiday spirit week coming soon. All you have to do is tag our instagram (@nlstucco) or email a picture to Mrs. Albright or Mrs. Zemba of you in your outfit.

Are you interested in the Air Force?? The US Air Force Total Force Virtual Career Fair will be held on Wednesday , December 9th from 4pm – 7pm. Students will be able to jump to different virtual classrooms to obtain information on all components in the United States Air Force. Pennsylvania Air National Guard Recruiter along with the other Recruiters at each base in PA will be available to present benefits and go over any questions your students have on the PA Air Guard. Physical screenings will be held in the nurse's office on December 7th. Check with your first period teacher to find out your assigned time.

Viking dollars for Quarter 1 have been awarded! All high school students should have received an email with the amount of dollars earned, as well as your current dollars balance. If you did not receive an email, please notify Mrs. Herb in room 50. Congratulations to all students for your hard work and remember to continue to Level Up this year!

Attention students taking a College course in the High School HACC class in the "Spring". You should have received paperwork in school and through the mail. It is important that you apply ASAP, then you will need to claim your myHACC accounts via your new HACC email address. Once you are accepted, you may enroll in your specific course using the CRN numbers on schoology. If you have questions, see Mr. Shewell in the guidance office and bring your computer.

Attention any student interested in attending the CTC during the 2021-2022 school year. Applications are now live!! Please use the link on schoology to complete the online application. All applications must be submitted no later than Monday, February 15th, but the sooner the better. If you have any questions about the CTC or the programs offered, check out the NL or CTC website or email or see Mrs. Kline.

The Christmas meal for the Senior Citizens has been cancelled due to Covid.

Covid Information:

Cover your nose and mouth when you cough or sneeze - cover with a tissue, the bend of your elbow, or clothing (recommend upper sleeve); do not use your hands

Wash your hands often with soap and water for 20 seconds and especially before you eat, after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing and after using the bathroom. Use alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available

Do not touch your face. Avoid germs getting into your body by not touching your eyes, nose, mouth and face.

Minimize germ exposure by social distancing of 6 feet apart.

You should not come to school and should contact your doctor if you have signs or symptoms of COVID 19. If symptoms occur during the school day, inform your teacher so you can be evaluated by the nurse. Symptoms include:

  • Uncontrolled Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Chills
  • Diarrhea, vomiting or abdominal pain
  • Runny nose for unknown reason
  • Muscle aches
  • Severe headache
