Holy Spirit Church recently issued the following announcement.

POVERTY SIMULATION EXPERIENCE

Friday, August 20, 6-8:30pm

Church of the Good Shepherd, 1500 Quentin Road, Lebanon

Lebanon County Christian Ministries and Lebanon Valley College are teaming up to provide a  unique poverty simulation experience. The Community Action Poverty Simulation breaks down stereotypes by allowing participants to step into the real-life situations of others.

Examples include:

1) A single parent with limited resources and no transportation must find a way to get to work and get their child to daycare.

2) An elderly person must find a way to pay for both utilities and medication.

3) A young adult must care for siblings while their parent is incarcerated.

4) An elderly couple must raise their grandchildren and deal with their own health and employment issues.

To register (limited to 40 people) or for more information on fighting homelessness in Lebanon County, go to  https://www.flipcause.com/secure/cause_pdetails/MTE2ODA0.
