North Cornwall Township Municipal Government Employment Career Opportunity
North Cornwall Township, located in Lebanon County, PA, is seeking to fill the Township's Administrative Assistant Positions. The Township has seen an increase in population, residential and commercial growth during the last decade, resulting in the need to increase its administrative staff. The Township will begin construction in 2022 of a new municipal administration building and will be seeking career minded persons to join the expanding administrative department's staff.
Administrative Assistant Positions
North Cornwall Township is accepting applications for the position of Administrative Office Assistant. This is a career opportunity for an energetic, self-motivated individual with the experience and/or skills necessary to perform municipal administrative assistant duties required for this position.
Accepting positions for a 40-hour work per week full-time position, and a 25-to-30-hour per work week part-time position. Starting salaries will be determined on whether the selected applicant is an entry level candidate, who will require training or an applicant who has administrative experience and will require minimum on-the-job training. Full-time position will include medical benefits, paid time off, retirement pension, paid holidays, as well as other benefits.

Job Title: Administrative Assistant
Summary: Performs administrative and clerical duties for management by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• North Cornwall Township is seeking a candidate with the following clerical skills:
• Strong communication and decision-making skills, a desire and willingness to learn.
• Experience with computer programs such as Office 365, Quickbooks, Excel, etc.
• Ability to organize and develop spreadsheets, educational materials, newsletters, and other forms of administrative and public works documents.
• Ability to manage Human Resource records, Health Insurance Plans, employee handbook and maintain personnel files.
• Answers multi-line telephone system, takes accurate messages and transfers telephone calls to the appropriate person in an efficient manner.
• Greets and screens incoming visitors in a professional manner and promptly notifies appropriate person of their arrival.
• Receives and signs for courier deliveries and notifies appropriate personnel that packages have arrived.
• Receives, sorts and distributes incoming mail and prepares outgoing mail in a timely manner.
• Operates standard office equipment to include:
multi-line telephone system
postage machine/scale
calculator
facsimile machine
computer/printer
photocopy machine
• Types correspondence and various documentation in proper format and proofreads/distributes as assigned.
• Maintains proper response letters on computer for various incoming correspondence.
• Files correspondence and documents as necessary.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Verifies, calculate and process payroll on a bi-weekly basis.
• Inventories and orders office supplies and equipment as directed.
• Maintains an updated and accurate master office calendar, schedules office meetings as
requested.
• Attends Board of Supervisor meetings for the purpose of taking and transcribing minutes in an accurate and professional manner.
• Other assigned duties: Responsible for administrative duties that may be assigned by the Office Supervisor or Township Manager.

Education/Experience:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio. And percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situation.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.
