Congressman Dan Meuser, representing Pennsylvania's 9th District, recently engaged with his constituents and addressed significant issues related to the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) through a series of tweets. Serving since 2019 and currently residing in Dallas, Meuser has a background that includes a BA from the State University of New York Maritime College.

On April 7, 2025, Congressman Meuser invited his constituents to "join Congressman Dan Meuser for a Telephone Town Hall!" scheduled for April 9, at 6:30 PM, providing a legislative update and an opportunity for live questions. Details were provided for joining via telephone and online platforms.

The following day, April 8, 2025, he announced his role as Chairman of the Financial Services Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, declaring his intention to lead "a hearing this morning titled 'Decades of Dysfunction: Restoring Accountability at HUD.’” He pointed to longstanding issues of waste, fraud, and mismanagement within the department.

Later that day, he reiterated the initiation of the hearing, emphasizing the necessity to tackle the challenges facing HUD. In his own words, “For too long, @HUDgov has been plagued by waste, fraud, and mismanagement—with billions lost to improper practices.”
