ALSP is a rare hereditary disease often misdiagnosed due to symptoms resembling other diseases. Symptoms include mobility decline, muscle spasms, reduced pain sensation, and psychological changes. ALSP typically manifests in one's 40s and can be passed on to children. There is no cure.

State Representative John Schlegel, from the 101st Legislative District, announced today that 12 fire companies in the district have received state grants totaling nearly $170,000.
