Rep. John Schlegel of Lebanon has announced the allocation of $1.2 million in state gaming revenue to three entities within his legislative district through the Local Share Account (LSA) program. The Commonwealth Financing Authority, an independent agency under the Department of Community and Economic Development, is responsible for distributing these funds.
The approved LSA grants are as follows:
- The City of Lebanon will receive $500,000 to update Fire Department Station I to accommodate both male and female firefighters. This includes renovations to bathrooms, sleeping quarters, lighting, windows, sewer system replacement, and HVAC upgrades.
- The Lebanon Valley Economic Development Corporation will be granted $400,000 on behalf of the WEPA Empowerment Center for rehabilitating its bilingual community-based workforce development center at 9 South Ninth St. in Lebanon. The project involves demolition work, constructing a new rear addition, roof repairs, and installing an ADA-compliant elevator.
- North Lebanon Township is set to receive $300,000 for replacing a structurally deficient 315-foot retaining wall along Jay Street. This grant also covers repaving around the area and installing protective fencing.
“It was my pleasure to support these grants," said Schlegel. "They will cover a significant portion of the total project costs and enhance the safety and well-being of the residents of our communities.”
